Online Photographic Exhibition a Great Success

"Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club have shown again what makes them such a successful club – one that is inclusive and nurturing, resulting in such a diverse and comprehensive presentation of its members’ work” was a quote from esteemed photographer Marija Lees LRPS, when she viewed the Club’s online photographic exhibition.

Other congratulatory comments left in the Guestbook included:

“What a wonderful selection of photographs! Some are simply exquisite. Enjoyed looking through them very much. Thank you.”

“I had always hoped that good would come out the past few months, and the time to stop, and be still, would inspire much creativity. This selection is proof of that. What an interesting selection of images, that must represent your different personalities and favourite photographic subjects. It has been extra special to see the many views of the familiar coast and moor, now I’m no longer local. Thank you for sharing and well done to you all.”

The Club has been delighted by the success of its first online photographic exhibition which saw a big spike in visitors to the website during the event, with people coming from all over the UK, Norway, Sweden, USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand.

As well as Club members sharing the exhibition to friends and friends of friends, the exhibition was also shared on many local news and networking Facebook groups and on local radio.

Viewers to the Gallery were invited to vote for their favourite images and the one with the most votes by a long way belongs to David Snow for his image of The Gin Bar, Bath.

Hot on the heels of their success, the Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club has kicked off its new season programme of guest speakers, competitions and club nights using Zoom (until they can meet in person) and is looking forward to welcoming new members to the club.

If you are interested in joining the Club which meets on Wednesday evenings, please visit www.dawlishteignmouthcameraclub.co.uk for more details.

Although the Online Exhibition is now closed, you can still view the galleries here.
