Changing the Landscape

Dawlish & Teignmouth Photographic Club were set a brand new challenge this week.

Every member was given the same image , an underexposed view of the River Teign at Fingle Bridge, and given free rein to manipulate the image using a photo editing programme to achieve their desired result.

As ever members enthusiastically participated and the resulting images were screened for all to see.

No two looked alike, they ranged from black and white to oil painting effects, some misty and ethereal, some surreal, one even featured garden gnomes among the trees, another a seals head popping up from the water.

An opportunity to hone editing skills, whilst injecting an element of fun.

All the interpretations are in this gallery >>

The rest of the evening was dedicated to advice on editing images, a somewhat daunting prospect for beginners, but simplified by the excellent presentations given by Rob Landberger, Naomi Stolow, Alex Rosen and Howard Sheard.

A warm welcome awaits all. If you are thinking of joining, here's all you need to know about joining Dawlish & Teignmouth Photographic Club >>
